Unfurling

"And then the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." Anais Nin

Our penchant for permaculture, pansies and starlight is no secret here at the HQ of all things auspicious where we’ve been reflecting on the year that blew by and awaiting the wings of the next. After full and intense cultivation and creative explosions of bold color, rich insights and fierce desire, we’ve planted some potent seeds in accordance to the cycles of the moon – and are tickled to see how good they look in the springtime.

Whilst coming into alignment with our gifts and talents and our work in the world, we’ve come to know a little bit about the source of our creative ignition, and have committed to remain open to the magic. The light in our garden has been radiant this year - a light that’s been burning since the dawn of us and shining brighter the more we open up to it and let it out.

Inspiration happens for reasons unbeknownst to the all of us, but we can feel it as a spell that enchants our senses and moves us to follow it. For the last 30 years of his life, Claude Monet painted almost nothing but the water lilies in his garden: "I am following Nature without being able to grasp her. I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers."

I certainly owe much of my own inspiration to flowers – metaphorically and artistically – as the inherent beauty of the biosphere is my prime source to fill up on wonderment and witness the glowing miracle of being alive.  This year I put together a bouquet of some of my favorite botanical images in a charming book - The Light in the Garden - that will make you feel like a voyeuristic fairy in the floral-tops.

The studio is home to 6 17x24” poster sized prints of the intense blooms from the book that are signed and ready for framing. Send me a note with your mailing address and a list of all of the things that light you up with inspiration, and I’ll have one of these beauties delivered to your door.

PS. Speaking of pistils and stamens and other creative aspects ready for pollination – the HIVE creative meet ups will be resuming in January to get the new year all abuzz and set ideas aflutter.
