Bareback

Here at Auspicious Projects, where we dream in living color and wake up waiting to be pinched, the smell of fresh cut hay is the mane event of summertime. Thanks to many great mentors with 2 legs and 4, we've honed our horsemanship skills and collected blue ribbons since 1991, and we're firm believers that horses are human whisperers.

Since our last real horse was left to enjoy the cadence of the Montana grass 7 years ago, we've managed to keep one foot in the manure pile and wear our muck boots into the ivory tower of academia. We wrote for and proofread The Eclectic Horseman magazine, wrote a book-length masters thesis on the intertwining of horse and rider ("Becoming a Third, Much Greater Thing"), and for the past 4 years, we've been writing for and editing the Boulder County Horse Association's Newsletter - The Horse's Mouth.

As connoisseurs of beauty, the rhythm of the horse runs through our veins here at the headquarters of all things auspicious. And, we're grateful to have grown up amongst the sages.

GIGGLES & GALLOPS:

Calling all wallflowers: original botanical photographs are larger than life.

As with all AP photography, prints of the horsies would look really sweet on your wall. Bonus: you don't have to clean up after these ones.

We were once asked if there was anything we couldn't do. After giving it some thought, we said no.

If wishes were horses, I'd take a dozen.
