As Chief Creative Conspirator here at Auspicious Projects, where we eat, sleep and breathe inspiration and beauty, I wanted to announce our auspicious emails so you can get the lastest and greatest scoop delivered straight to your inbox (and pass it along to friends!).

And, I'm delighted to say that there's been plenty of sparks flying out of the creative inferno, and it will be a juicy summer full of fresh blossoms, blank canvases and hot August nights (that I promise to blog about). Plus...

It's strawberry season!

There's an old Zen story that I love called the Parable of the Strawberry. It goes a little like this:

A man traveling through open country came across a tiger. He fled, and the tiger ran after him. Coming to a cliff, the man caught hold of the root of a wild vine and swung himself down over the edge. The tiger sniffed at him from above. Trembling, the man looked down to where, far below, yet another tiger was waiting to eat him. Only the vine sustained him. Two mice, one white and one black, little by little started to gnaw away the vine. The man saw a luscious strawberry near him. Grasping the vine with one hand, he plucked the strawberry with the other. How sweet it tasted!

What a tale of savoring the present! I think of this yarn every time I fearlessly go after what I want. I adore this universal lesson in being so much that put this symbol in knits:

The Strawberry Hat
Savor the present
(and be warm - and cute!)
